I personally know both of them and have for some time. Her leg was messed up; $300k is high, but if it was about half that or more it would not surprise me. Historically, they are two of the nicest people I know in the local running community and very genuine. Not that it's worth $1 to me, but the smart money says they still do it, and often, so his claim is a complete joke.
