Has anyone faced the problem that their team gets ZERO support from their AD? Our HS located in between the two conference/regional leaders, our kids are pretty good, in fact some of them are VERY good. However the AD hires crappy coaches that end up getting fired mid season, puts no money into equipment etc. We had kids that wanted to pole vault, but the AD didn't want to put the equipment on the field since the football team was still playing. He made the kids that did PV pay for their own poles as he only has 2 and one is cracked. They didn't have a coach for PV, a senior kid did the coaching. They never take kids to the better meets, but will sign up for meets where independent/homeschool/Christian schools compete. The football players won't go anywhere near the track during spring season because every year the coach is some idiot. My daughter has a good chance of running for a decent DI or DII school (she's junior), but we have to do most of our work as unattached (during track) or run these crappy meets for XC (no NXN, Footlocker, Wendys or Milesplit meets for us). We aren't allowed to travel outside our county except for States. We had to sign a paper at the beginning of the XC season saying we would not get outside coaching or compete unattached. Any advice would be helpful. I have met with the AD and quite frankly that meeting didn't go well. The principal isn't much help either. What can we do for these kids?
