Although the sentiment is a good one, this song was absolutely ruined by the never ending save the children commercial that uses it.
Yep, the Celine Dion version is better.
Traditional: "Ave Maria" sung by a lady at my folks' church, but it's just such a beautiful song and is done well by many performers.
Best Christmas Album: The Jethro Tull Christmas Album is one of the best pieces of music I own. You could listen to this music year round as well.
Best Single: The Damned "There Ain't No Sanity Clause"
Album: John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together
Single: tie between Ray Charles' The Christmas Song and Pavarotti's Panis Angelicus

It's a great song. (except for Yoko yuck.)
Hey man, don't hate on Yoko. She may not be a great musician, but if she was John's inspiration for a lot of the stuff he wrote, I love and thank her for that.
river as sung by robert downey jr. on the very ally christmas ally mcbeal soundtrack
O Holy Night, especially when Josh Groban sings it.
sleigh ride traditional version w/o lyrics added .supposedly this was just a pop tune in the late 1800's that was converted to a Christmas tune. I also like Tchaikovsky's Nut Cracker music especially by New York Philharmonic. but , recently heard rendition by London Phil and was awed. Props, to the other side of pond. merry Christmas and Happy New year.
