Do they know it's Christmas Time at All.
That was so much better than that We Are the World Crap.
Traditional: Burl Ives--Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire.
Least Favorite--Brenda Lee Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
I heard this the other morning, and knew I had to share it with you LetsRunners. Imagine Jim Morrison doing a Christmas album.
It's Fairytale of NY, like the guy mentioned above. The definitive version by Shane McGowan and the Pogues with Kirsty McColl is on youtube.
I like the Bowie/Crosby song that was mentioned, too. This may be urban myth, but I've heard that Crosby didn't meet Bowie until he walked on stage for that one take.

I prefer 'Dominic the Tijuana Donkey'! Yeah bsby, yeah! That is a great song.
Anything off of the MercyMe Christmas CD.
You two nailed it with the Kinks and Pogues!!
One of my favorites is Robert Earl Keen's "Merry Christmas from the Family." Also like Springsteen's "Santa Clause is Comin' to Town," and Elvis's "Blue Christmas." But I admit I'm pretty much a sucker for all Christmas music.
Trans Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Canon in D
Jingle Bells by Jimmy Buffett.
Happy birthday to us!!!
Feliz Navidad ... Jose Feliciano
My favorite of all time. I hope to hear it as much as possible on Christmas.
Mike Ness (of Social Distortion fame) did a cover of Little Drummer Boy that i like. i also like O Holy Night, traditional, with all 4 verses. doesn't matter who sings it, as long as the musicians are good and all 4 verses are sung.

Blue Christmas, by the King. Without a doubt. Oooh-we-oooh. Oooh-we-oooh.
Elmer Fudd's version ain't bad either.

I agree about Brenda Lee
You sure about Burl Ives and "The Christmas Song"? I have (actually my parents have them) a couple of Burl Ives Christmas collections and neither contain "The Christmas Song". Nat Cole and Tony Bennett have the two most popular versions of that tune.
Hells Bells a x-mass tune?
I'm a little surprised no one has nominated the song about the big fat guy.
You know, Round John Virgin.

I have never heard Lebron James sing this but I did see him do the soulja dance.

John Lennon "So this is Xmas?"
Although the sentiment is a good one, this song was absolutely ruined by the never ending save the children commercial that uses it.
"What Child is This" I like the Charlotte Church version.
Here is the YouTube link to Charlotte Church's "What Child is This?".
