Hope you guys fair well against the mob or shall I say the Chain of Black People obstructing the path to 02:15 Marathoners.
You rue the day chaos exists. Rule of law needed.

Look at their FB page. This group is more white than black. It is so sad that white people think that these thugs define what it means to be "black." They have no respect for the African Americans who actually work hard and live a law-abiding life.
What's more inconvenient - having to stop your 26 mile run a mile early or facing discrimination on a daily basis for something you've no control over? Check your privilege.

What is more inconvenient - having to stop your 26 mile run a mile early or having your children being murdered by a black crack dealer?

Really that's your question? Are you a troll? Ok I'll play and answer your question. Facing discrimination every day would be more inconvenient.
Now answer me this question. What is more likely to result in negative feelings toward black Americans. A group of people illegally blocking exhausted innocent runners who have been training months to reach their goal, or a group of people gathering to enhance racial healing and volunteering to help these runners.
So which group will create more negative angry feelings and hence more discrimination?
This would be my plan (start at 0:22)
Sorry, forgot the link...
Urge spectators who will be lining the course anyway, to link arms to create a wall along each side of the race. Meet one planned obstruction with another. Make sure the protesters can't quickly swarm onto the course and achieve critical mass before law enforcement has a chance to arrive.

Exactly, you are supporting the point I'm making.

You have no point. I could say the same thing about pouring sugar in your gas tank. What's more inconvenient: dealing with a screwed up car that won't start or facing discrimination on a daily basis for something over which you have no control? The two have absolutely NO connection and runners have a right to be pissed. Were this a police officer-only race, they might have a decent idea. You can't just bully innocent civilians in the name of some unrelated cause and label it right and just. It's not. It's hooliganism.
Check your privilege. You've clearly gotten away with too much. Learn to coexist with others. Two wrongs don't make a right. If you're not a troll and truly care about the issue, get involved and affect change in a positive way. Stop acting like my 3-year-old son.
Don't feed the troll.

Demonstrate on a sidewalk then. BLM will get their message across just as effectively. There is no need to bring it to the street and interfere with the runners. BLM can demonstrate all they want, my only issue is that they do it on a sidewalk and NOT on the street where the runners will be.
Again, any LRC person who blocks runners is a traitor to the sport.

Good example of where the cops were CLEARLY in the wrong, it still seems the overwhelming majority of these cases the person was doing a crime.
Nonsense name guy here again, using the other side of the keyboard this time. A few questions:
1) On what basis do you believe that the "overwhelming majority" of black people who are victims of police brutality are committing a crime?
2) Does committing a crime justify police using excessive force to subdue you?
3) If yes to 2 above, how much excessive force is too much excessive force?
I'm a law and order guy--I support law enforcement, and believe that if you commit a crime you should be prepared to face the full consequences of the American criminal justice system. But I also believe that black Americans are disproportionately punished by American law enforcement and its criminal justice system, and that's something we should strive to correct.
I also believe that the protest is misguided, counter-productive, and potentially unsafe, but I hope that it ends up being more peaceful than it sounds now, and that if it is peaceful that law enforcement takes appropriate steps to assure the safety of all citizens (including protesters). And lastly, I hope that if the protest ends up getting violent, that arrests are swiftly made with appropriate force.
And my wife agrees with me on all of this, so I know I'm right.
So who is in the Elite Fields, like most races I guess a Kenyan or Ethiopian will win, is this group going to stop him?
This activist Rashad Turner said he wants to end white supremacy, does he realize there is NO white supremacy in the marathon? white supremacy in the marathon ended over 3 decades ago.
Stopping a marathon won't end negative encounters with police, but if you do not commit a crime, and are respectful of authority, you PROBABLY (99% chance) won't have problems with police.
No one has answered my question, if there are so many racist cops why are the Japanese, Korean and Chinese Americans having problems with the police? they are racially different, are even more of a minority than blacks.
Could it be they do not commit crimes at the same rate, could it be they tend to be less rebellious? Could it be they are generally more respectful of authority?
I know many black people and they don't have these problems with cops.
The majority of blacks are great people, don't come any better, at the same time people like Rashad Turner want black criminals to get a pass, and to make like the black criminal is a victim when without criminal behavior cops would not bother them at all.
Hopefully Rashad Turner reads this and the black neighborhood become crime free, so cops can concentrate on other things like rescuing a kitten who is scared to get down a tree.
I meant NOT having problems.

Obviously the former would result in more negative feelings.
A lot of you are viewing this event under the wrong lens. BLM has had their mission come under scrutiny as there are many people who seem to believe that Blacks aren't discriminated against. The Black Marathon isn't designed to start alleviating the problems as people have to first acknowledge the discrimination exists! It is designed to validate the Movement by showing that racism still very much exists. The reaction this weekend will prove that, if the reaction so far hasn't already.
I saw where the leader was quoted as saying that he was willing to negotiate with the officials of the race but not the police. So is this just a shake down? If the RD can pay this guy off he'll call off his "protesters"?
The Bureau of Land Management needs to sue Black Lives Matter for encroaching on their intellectual property. Like there could only be one WWF, there can only be on BLM (www.blm.gov)

What would you do?
Lower the shoulder and plant them on their rear. If you stand in front of a speeding train, it's your own fault, and you should expect to get hit.
The thing is most people, even good runners, aren't a "speeding train" come mile 25. The runners should bring knives or razors and slice their way to the finish.
