I think its harder to define what running far really means. running fast is easy to define because its time to cover a specified distance. but what counts as running far? I run 100 miles all the time. it just takes me 5 or 6 days to do it. same with 1000 miles, but that takes more like two months. nearly everyone in a 100 mile race stops at some point or walks a portion. does that count as one run? is that really the same as running far? when does that become different than me taking 5 days to run 100 miles? that may seem ridiculous, but when you stretch it out to instances where people are running across the country- thousands of miles, how different is it? for me, that's what the difference is and why distance without time is not impressive
