LAST WEEK: 43.36 miles
M: 8 @ 5:57 min/mile + 1 CD // 8 miles on the track! Brutal! I was really consistent with my laps, which was what my coach wanted.
Tu: 9.86 @ 6:05 // 75% on grass. We got some MAJOR stoplights (like 5 mins for one of them). Still felt too fast.
W: 5.23 @ 7:06 // Nice recovery, still felt kind of fast though.
Th: 7.5 @ 8:05 // First day of school = afternoon practices now. Brutal hill course and really hot. Also, I went incredibly easy because of my race on friday.
F: 3.03 @ 5:24 // Alumni Race. With warmups and cooldowns, I ran a total of 6.53. But, the race...I got 16:22. Not what I wanted, but the course was really hard. Lots of grass with holes, dirt, hills, rocks, bumps, dust, heat, it was not ideal at all. My coach said that I could probably drop near a minute on the flat course (woodbridge) which is when I want to go sub 15:30.
S: 5.24 @ 7:16 // Nice recovery from the race.
Overall: I think the week was too fast... monday + tuesday + friday, lots of tough workouts. And no long run or doubles, so the mileage was really low. Whatever! Today I ran 8 on the track @ 5:53, so things are looking pretty good. My coach says that my workouts have been really stellar, that me and my buddy have a good change to go 1-2 in league.
