They need to update the results page and post the "projected" time. With the adjusted times only the top 4 would clearly have broken 3 hours. 5th might have made it with a strong finish.
And don't even get me started on Marathon Maniacs.

I wonder how they determine an 'adjusted' time?
Probably using this fancy, newfangled tool called "arithmetic." Perhaps you've heard of it?
Glad to see the Marathon Maniacs have decided to honor all as finishers.
I don't think 50 States club has made a decision yet. Too bad.

So bored of people getting worked up about who qualifies for this hobby jogger festival. Other than the elite race, Boston is not some bastion of sporting integrity and athletic performance; it's just another age group race with a quirky entrance criteria.
^ So bored with posts from imbeciles who invoke the childish term "hobby jogger".

50 State club said they will count the race if the applicant sends them data that shows they made up the extra mile within 48 hours. A friend of mine just send a picture of his Garmin after a 3 mile shakeout run the next day and that worked.
I was happy to see the 50 State admins make such a fair compromise because Alaska is a difficult state to check off. Had this happened in Delaware or Georgia even then I think it would have been No Soup For You!

Who cares if someone missed out on the chance to waddle around for 3 hours with a bunch of other joggers?
You mad bro?

crazy but true wrote:Just read an article where are marathon in Alaska was a mile short due to a error at the turnaround. They asked the BAA to allow their times to be used for Boston entries and BAA said it was okay
Crazy. Hate to be a runner who misses out on Boston to a person who ran this race.
https://www.adn.com/article/20150819/boston-marathon-will-honor-adjusted-big-wild-life-timesThe Boston Marathon has become a joke. There are way too many celebrity and charity entries. It's strength used to be the qualification times for the race. That made it special. This is just another nail in the coffin that makes it like any other race. Boston Weak.
Why you mad bro?
Boston is a MONEY MAKING MACHINE!!! That's what matters most.
Alaskans would think the opposite...

the miserable wretches back in waves 2+ probably make you run faster. the more people that are out on the course cheering for those hobbyjoggers, the better you run. can't deny the power of loud crowds to motivate you to run faster.
I like them back there. I can tell my coworkers that I finished in the top 100 out of 30,000 instead of top 100 out of 1000 if the qualifying was more strict. Out of 30K sounds more impressive to the shmoes that don't know the difference between 2:30 and 3:30.

Over at marathonguide the finish times are posted along with a potential for a qualifing time based on current AG only as some folk may have a birthday before Patriots Day and gain additional time. As currently posted 50 runners hit the mark. Of those I see very few that would fail to qualify with 5 minutes tacked onto their time.
I also see Bart Yasso on the list at about 4.5 hours. I thought he was fast and wrote books about it. I guess he runs 800 repeats at 9 minute pace?
Findmymarathon.com says 10.6% qualified for Boston which would be 34 runners. It looks like 16 runners lost their temporary Boston qualifier status.
http://findmymarathon.com/race-detail.php?zname=Mooses%20Tooth%20MarathonI wonder why they didn't move the turnaround after they found out it was short. Surely, in the hours between the first few finishers and the last few, they had time to move it. Then at least some of the participants could have correct times.
