Wake up ACC fans.
Are you guys asleep at the wheel? Florida State will not be 9th in the weaker than usual ACC this year.
They will have the individual champ in Mulenga, followed up by Seddon, Goodwin, and a few other transfers.
Likely 2nd - 4th range, but won't be able to dethrone Syracuse.
Fair enough. Flotrack has them higher than NC State and UNC:
And it is their home course this year.
Regional rankings will come out today. We'll see what the coaches think, anyway.
Suffice to say that Fl State's going to Nats given their region. Can't say that for some other ACC teams that might beat them at ACCs.
What about on the girls side of things? Rankings and why?
Just saw in another thread - pickup for Syracuse.

I'm pretty high on the Notre Dame Women's team. Molly's back after winning 10K Outdoor. They have the best recruiting class in the country (and frosh women can contribute faster than men because it's 6K vs 5K in HS) and they got an excellent transfer from URI who'll make an immediate impact.
I think they can beat UVA, UNC, 'Cuse and NC State. Fl State lost too much. Gonna be epic.

Is this the Women's list? If so, I beg to differ re: ND. If ND finishes 9th in ACCs I'll blow the ND leprechaun on the 50 yd line during halftime of the ND / USC game!

How much longer does Wake Forest get to stink?
It isn't like track is doing anything at all. I thought they were going to focus on distance; instead focused on being bad at everything?
I'll be at Covered Bridge in Boone NC Friday to watch some ACC action. Looking fwd to that!
Interesting that the coaches poll has ND Women behind 'Cuse, UVA, UNC and NC State and ahead of FSU. Yet Flotrack hasn't ranked them yet (they've ranked 31 - 11) but they've ranked the others (and didn't rank FSU).
My conclusion is that Flotrack actually knows what they're doing and is going to have ND Women in the top ten, ahead of their ACC competition.
Go Irish!
Flotrack never has and never will know running. 'Nuff said.
Well Notre Dame women looked good today. Anna Rohrer and Annie H were great. Molly S didn't run.
My only concern is that I'm told that Danny Aragon's out with a stress fracture.
So, I don't see ND in the top 10 anymore. Maybe top 15 - 20.
unc, NC State and Duke (in some capacity) raced eachother today. Cant say I see UNC being good after looking at those results. Neither men or women had great performances.
Also afte seeing the wake men last weekend at Furman think we can lock them into our bottom 3 here.

NC State Women look strong. UNC Women didn't run their top runners, so we can't draw conclusions. Duke is a non-factor.
ACC's are going to be fun to watch, especially on the Women's side. The race within the race will be the Anna Roher vs Ryen Frazier frosh battle. Frazier ran an amazing time but WakeMed's a lot faster than Notre Dame. Notre Dame's flatter, but the footing sucks. It's a spongy golf course vs hard packed sand / gravel.
The Men's side will only be interesting regarding who comes in second.
As a Wake alum I agree. How long will we accept less than mediocrity. Wake has the ability to be very good at xc as a school and instead it continues to swirl around in the toilet bowl.
BTW, the ACC Women's frosh battle will be previewed at the Notre Dame Invite. Anna Rohrer vs Ryen Frazier.
Who ya got?
My head says Frazier, but my heart says Rohrer.
Interesting weekend. I think we learned that cuse and uva are the class of the men's group. Uva is so deep it's scary. Their AA (king) didn't even score on Sat!
NC state and Louisville could threaten too. Stick a fork in Florida state, Carolina and Notre dame.
On the women's side we'll learn a lot at Notre Dame on Fri. NC state will face off against Notre Dame. New Mexico will be there too so we'll find out how good these teams really are.

At UVA AA King was their 6th and 29:11 guy Visokay was their 8th. That is some scary depth. I think they lack a low stick to challenge Cuse at ACC's, but with that depth and group (19sec 1-7) they could place very well at NCAA's.
I also think Knight is going to be top 3 at NCAA's, that kid is the real deal.
