She has stated it would be more effective if these people would go straight to USADA, but that she would be the messenger for people that were fearful of retribution.

Goucher stole the limelight away from the real 5K performers at USAs with her claims about NOP after the race. She claims to have gone public with accusations out of love for the sport but stealing attention away from the top performers right after the race makes me question this. Here is a video of Shalane Flanagan's comments about the media focus on Goucher (start at 30 seconds into the video).

Real 5k performers? You mean the woman running decent times. You can't possibly mean the men barely breaking 14 minutes.

What she said in the interview was "constantly all day long people are passing me information." It was in that context that she said that it would be better if those individuals themselves went to USADA. But that was in the past. In her just released statement she was talking about new knowledge in the future, and a sensible question would be, from where? So instead of excoriating someone with whom you disagree, a well-mannered criticism, sound or unsound, would be more in order.

Off topic, but why not both? I've never understood the hatred of tactical racing. I think "barely breaking 14" with a 54 last lap is a real 5k performance.

Sometimes tactical races make sense. It's just game theory. I've loved racing in tactical races despite not being the fastest of kickers. It makes races more variable and exciting in some cases, and on occasion I've gotten the opportunity to outkick guys I wouldn't have been able to stick with if a pacer was in the race.

Hoping to hear Rojo's response. This is ridiculous by Goucher...she and Magness decided to make this into a media circus rather than just a USDA investigation, not Salazar. She implied that Salazar was releasing emails that were edited/redacted/selected in a way that they distorted the truth. Now she has nothing new and wants to go dark? That's not how the real world works.

The real media circus is run by Salazar and his obviously performance abusing athletes. But wait ... look at all the money they are making for being the "best."

Didn't they (Gouchers) sell a 5 million dollar house when they moved back to CO? That sounds like alan Iverson "I's got kids to feed " in the middle of a 12 mill per year contract.

Something to keep in mind in weighing all of "this" is that after Goucher left the Oregon Project she signed up with another Nike group, Schumaker's. Of course there are all sorts of good reasons why she might have done this, including not wanting to leave Oregon, in Portland in particular, but it is interesting nevertheless.

I think we're all interesting in hearing the Brojo's responce

I find it kind of funny when things look bad on the other side, they're slow to respond

If there would've been an article bashing Salazar/Rupp, Rojo would've been all over it, we would've seen a detailed responce within hours

I like how this thread didn't even make the SUPER HOT ON LETSRUN on the front page, but the thread about "froom Rupp" did

I'll be expecting a responce from the Brojo's very soon (a biased one of course)
