K. Bekele has probably already announced this, but is he done on the track?

As much as I'd like to see a top form and uninjured KB go up against Mo on the track (he's only less than a year older than Mo BTW) I'd think it's unlikely he'll return to track. I mean - what for? Another loss would seriously damage his legacy, possible GOAT-status and probably even lower his appearance money for future marathons where it's beginning to look that he won't be able to fully follow on the heals of Haile.
Where I'd really like to see him is on the ultra scene, 11 times Terrain World champ (if i recall correctly) and still young enough to win Western States in two or three years if the switches to that now.
The race is not in Holland, it's in Overijssel.
Kenenisa has the same amount of 10,000m Golds as Geb in both the Olympics (2) and Word Championships (4)
I think there would be enough motivation to get one more.
I expect him to for the 10,000 at the Olympics next year rather than the marathon.
Is it being broadcast on any Dutch channel?

Doubt any Americans would run it as USATF/ World trials for the USA is next week. The 10000 for Americans is a week from Thursday.
Interesting they have pacers for their trials as they only have to have the top 3 go under 27:45 for men and 32:00 for women, wouldn't think they would need pacers as those are pedestrian standards for the runners running tomorrow.
They want to simulate the actual race conditions, since Mo will be pacing the whole field to a mid 26.
Maar wel in Nederland?
Ja.
How does Florence Kiplagat compete in Ethiopian trials?
Alright, taking a break from reading the depressing Salazar crap.
Women's results
Burka
Heroye
Oljira

Ayalew
Men through 3k in 8:15 (27;30 pace)
Edris wins men's race in 27:17.

Yeah, nothing spectacular considering they are at Hengelo. Edris was followed by Merga, Geremew, and Takele. Bekele and Jeilan DNF
wow - wtf is going on with Jeilan?

Hasn't Jeilan only had two really good races? Sure they were both at the WCs, but I don't see this as unexpected
My impression is that Jeilan tried to move to the marathon, that hasn't gone well, and now he's in no man's land. I'm sure there are people on this board who know more about it than I do.
Here is an article on the meet:

If that is Ethiopia's women's team, then Flanagan and Huddle have a good shot at a medal.
None of these are unbeatable like Defar and T. Dibaba have been for nearly a decade, Kenya will have 3 good ones as well.

Run a fast 10k 10 days before nationals?
I mean maybe, but you'd be risking it, including your spot on the world team
Running Payton Jordan/Pre then recovering a couple weeks before Nat's is probably better
You have to think, this is essentially Ethiopia's "nationals" for the 10k
I'm interested in seeing if they use DL Monaco 5k for their 5k trials, in 2012, they used DL Paris (the brother meet to DL Monaco) as the trials and 11 guys or something went under 13 w/ Gebremeskel and Gebrehewit 12:46/12:47, and w/ Mo Farah (who went 12:53.11 there in 2011) entered that would be an interesting race
Well Gebremeskel actually stated that year he wanted to double and run the 5k/10k, after his 26:51 the Ethiopian Feds picked him for the 10k, then didn't pick him for the 5k (probably cause they didn't think he'd be fresh), the thing is, I'm not sure why he wanted to run the 10k either
He's probably just as strong at 10k as 5k, but if Farah has to run the 10k, he was going to be more fresh, therefore increasing his chances of winning 5k
Ethiopia thought process is that in London, if Gebremeskel couldn't beat Farah when he was fresh, how the heck was he going to beat him after running a 10k? So they put in another fresh 3 in the 5k (Gebrehewit/Alameriw/Edris)
Ethiopia/Kenya most likely aren't going to double any of their athletes, especially with them wanting to desperately beat Farah
Unfortunately Gebremeskel isn't in the same 12:46 form (13:03 in Rome) fell off a bit and dropped out of DL New York 5k
Farah looses how? Kamworor/Tanui tire Farah out in the 10k (although he still wins), and Gebrehewit beats him in the 5k, Ndiku was the only hope, but he's injured right now
