Im a freshman in highschool and do XC and Track. During XC i PR'd early in the season and never PR'd again. In fact, my times dropped by around 1 minute almost every race after that race. I felt tired all the time and i was going pretty hard every day. During Track i figured that my poor performance in XC was due to low iron and overtraining. I usually never eat meat (1 time /2wks) and sweat alot. ALOT. On a 4-6 mile run i would sweat the whole back side of my shirt and 3/4ths of the front side. I read that when you lose sweat, iron is lost too. Thus, further proving my theory of Iron deficiency. Now that Track is over, and im building my base, should I take iron pills (65mg)maybe every other day just in case because of the sweat i lose and the iron i dont consume from meats?
