But in all seriousness, if you disagree with me, why don't you actually engage with the terms of my argument rather than throw a bunch of knee jerk insults at me?

What I attempted to do in responding to the poster who was concerned about her/his friend's child is to give some brief data on how sex and gender are more complicated than they first seem, then to provide a rational explanation about why some may people feel like they're born into the wrong body.

Is my position that some people aren't born with XX or XY chromosomes Marxist? Is it ideological?

Is my observation that human gender presentation is sometimes the exact opposite of the presentation we observe in most other animals ideological? Marxist?

If you want to know my ideological stance, it is this: Nobody can claim to speak for God, and those that do--especially those who oppress others in the name of God--are really trying to defend and promote their own narrow interests, not protect society against degeneracy.

Speaking of STEM... I live in a divided state when it comes to conservative/liberal ideologies however I live in the most liberal city within that state. I took a STEM class on a field trip to a leading international engineering firm and they spoke consistently of diversity in their business relying on as many experiences and thought processes to remain competitive. One of the small group presenters on the tour was somewhat obviously an Asian transgender. Now, being somewhat conservative, I was curious to observe how my students would respond to this person and I have to tell you I was impressed with their ability to look past it, participate and ask intelligent questions about his/her career without blinking an eye. I had a lot of questions myself but nothing to do with engineering. Later, in discreet fashion, a couple kids asked about him/her and wanted to know if I noticed. I said I had and asked them how they felt about it and if it made them uncomfortable. They said of course it did at first but tried to focus on the information and actually had respect for his/her talent. They didn't agree with his/her personal choices but It wasn't the environment to have that discussion and besides, nobody was asking them for their opinion. They felt that the golden rule trumped their personal opinion. I was impressed with their maturity as teenagers and as an older, conservative minded person I agree with their outlook on things you can't control vs things you can.
