Gotta agree with the other poster - no need for the "we all know how this is going to end" stuff. Otherwise, I appreciate the updates. You make those kinds of statements and you open yourself up to criticism when you are wrong.

Man, you do not like it when you make a definitive statement and are the so far off it is scary , do you?
Please. I get it. I also knew that Nova at home and a sub 2:07 800 runner would have a chance when they are out in over 2:20
Kind of like Gibney beating Ulrey
Cranny looked completely over matched , and of course everyone knows she has run faster and by a bit.

3 Georgetown 11:16.83 Becca Deloache (3:30.54), Piper Donaghu (57.25), Sabrina Southerland (2:10.02), Katrina Coogan (4:39.03) AC
Schappert gets the win for Villanova, but Coogan runs the fastest anchor leg, 4:39.03 to 4:39.61. Go Katrina!
Nice call Rojo. DMR rocks again!
Not just Cranny, but Tonn and Saunders for Stanford both looked off form today, both approx. 4 sec slower than what they ran at NCAA indoors. All 3 just looked heavy legged.
Only the 400 gal Williams looked good, ironic given the cold, windy weather and Stanford's renown as a distance power.
Suspect when they are interviewed afterwards we'll find out something that affected their racing, be it jeg lag, no tapering, not properly prepared for the weather, whatever.
Makes tomorrow's 4x1500 race even more interesting. Cranny, Tonn and maybe Saunders are going to need short memories and a long time on the rehab table to bounce back from this one.
How about some love for the high school races? Anyone think Andrew Hunter will run a strong time in the mile? He has obviously proven himself to be incredibly strong in the two mile and above.
For those who aren't familiar with Schappert or how seriously Nova takes the relays, perhaps this quote will help.
Stephanie Schappert on taking lead and holding on with 150m left: "You would have had to kill me before I would have given up that race"
Unfortunately, for the 4X1500 and the 4X800, I think they are one brick shy of a load. The fourth runner they have has struggled this year. If she were on form, I think they could have given Stanford a battle.
I thought their best shot this year was the DMR which they won.

You think mentioning that Cheserek is an older Kenyan is bad journalism? I just have to disagree.
But you are right McGorty is a redshirt frosh.
If they had a Norwegian anchor you'd identify his nationality as well. People incarcerated in the PC gulags will manufacture outrage for everyyhing.
Now this a fantasic :.....3.5 second lead for Villanova (black girl) at 1200. 3:22? Monster 1200 leg. Really Rojo, BLACK GIRL? Angel Piccirillo, That is totally F'd up on your part!
Olympic Development women's 10,000 coming up. Greater Boston has Laura Paulsen in the race, our only one. Wish I were there to watch.
Tom
When will we start adding time to all these PBs run in absolutely ideal conditions in California. Welcome to the East. Penn relays has rain wind cold and it's perfect. Pay more attention to the races in the East instead of time trials out west.
THE EAST SUCKS

Huge win for Nova, not a very competitive race up and down though.
Drop it dude. We did our research. We were at NCAA indoors.
A 4:18 woman doesn't normally beat a 4:10 woman. Yes it's windy, but you don't expect that.
upsets are part of the sport.
Those PRs didn't mean much to me either, in fact when I saw the Nova anchor with a couple strides lead I knew she was not going to give it up.
I suspect it's the idiots who are hair-triggers to cry racism that are actually at their core racist themselves. Nothing truly offensive from Rojo here. Stop trying to prove how righteous you are. Its petty and doesn't help anyone.
Shame on Rojo wrote:

I certainly do not think Rojo is racist, calling Piccirillo the "Black Girl" just shows ...well, I don't know what , but, she was a prep star, and has run on winning relay teams already for Nova. Sriously for someone claiming to have the intel on Schappert, which is right out there, so are Picccirillo's numbers and accomplishments.
Did he really write that? or someone else?
Seems to me "Trailswatcher" you have had plenty to say and need to just go back to lurking. Your comments add nothing to the process. In other words, "Take a hike, young man, you bother me."
The high school 4x8's are always a highlight of The Penn Relays for me. I was just perusing through some of the splits, as I figured the cold and wind would take a toll on the times this morning.
The fastest split of the day comes from Kyuande Johnson of Wissahickon, with a monster 1:49.72. As an alum from a team in the same league as Wissahickon, I had to look the kid up. Surprisingly, the only results I can find are a 2:03 from indoors and a 4:40 this year outdoors.
Either the splits were a bit off, or this kid just had an unbelievable and potentially life-changing race. Going from a decent mid-distance runner to a national elite in the span of a few weeks... crazy stuff, if the splits are accurate!
These were slowest qualifying times in years.
Watched the races, I have a feeling Wissahickon splits are off some way? for two reasons, anyone who ran 1:49.x in those conditions in no man's land with no cover is a 1:46-47.x guy ability wise .
Also to get into the event to begin with I am not sure you can have two legs that run over 2:10 worth of abilities on a team, I think time got added or put on wrong guys even if they are auto times.
I am an old man and your contribution was?
It's amazing how when some folks comment on some stuff that is out right wrong, or, on an opinion of an established poster or board owner, the folks who have nothing to add ever, come out.
Others are allowed to trash people out right on here with no repercussions or commentary.
It is such a weenie ball, JV like move.
I made like 5 or 6 comments , one was a duplicate by accident.
If you do not like it, sorry about that, there is plenty more offensive stuff on here.

Good luck getting them to drop it. The Nova homers talk themselves up big before every race. Given how badly they've choked recently in XC, and the fact that they haven't been able to get that men's DMR win, the result is them getting very braggadocios about Penn. The guy posting "How did you think that was going to end? I assume you thought..." says all you need to know about their character.
