I spoke to Bolton today on the phone. To set the record straight, he never coached Mutinda. He said that there are several groups of Kenyans in Santa Fe and that Mutinda was not in his one.
When did he start coaching that group because Mutinda was a member at age
39.

Bolton started coaching there in 2008 I believe and left in 2010. Mutinda would have been at oldest 36 when Bolton left.

All this faux outrage is tiresome.
Thank you for your suggestion. Given that Road Racing is my business, I will continue to stay updated on the sport, make sure everyone else in the sport is up to date as well, and work to make sure that integrity in this business is upheld..
Integrity would be posting under your actual name rather than spreading rumors anonymously on the Internet. You F###ing P###Y S###
Emily Chebet - former WXC champ. Trains in NM with an unknown coach/agent? Seems legit.
Exactly. Emily left years ago, but "Mr in the Biz" Clerk still (cluelessly) lumps her in w/ Scott Robinson today.

IAAF does not even pretend to have a bio-passport. WMM isn't going to fund one.
No transparency, no confidence.
Have you not been following? Jeptoo was caught because the WMMs are paying for drug testing out-of-competition to hold their athletes accountable.
What's accountable about an org that posts no aggregate testing data? Is it a wada compliant protocol? How often do they test? What kinds of tests? Nothing.
Jeptoo basically fails an IQ test from an unknown testing authority in a sport rife with corruption.
One sanction is supposed to mean something?
Given that the thread is not about Emily Chebet, or Scott Robinson, I didn't bring her up.
Want to talk about her? Okay, since the fall/winter of 2010, her agent has been Zane Branson in Prague, manager of other big stars like Makau and Chepkirui. But Chebet's first XC title in 2010 did come when she was with Robinson, a surprise win after missing two years due to pregnancy and child care...
Thank you for showing that the RRM profile is outdated. It is still useful as Gault cites Bolton as saying him and the two athletes in question were never associated, despite some on-paper explanations showing otherwise.
If you have more insight, then please share it. I may be wrong, and have been and will be, but unless it's pointed out and clarified, the discussion can't develop. No, I don't post rumors. When I don't know something, I look it up. That's the normal reaction to misinformation: clarification. Anger, and name calling though, are the usual reactions to uncovering a truth someone wants covered...
JG, thanks for your contribution.

So do you believe everything you read on the internet?
Lets set the record straight about Rotich and Bolton. Bolton does not coach any of the athletes from the AmeriKenyan club. When he first moved to Santa Fe (10 yes ago?) they asked him to coach a few of their athletes. However, I think when he saw the way the group operated he distanced himself. (They probably try to still use Boltons name so that they have some credibility). In fact I know that over the last few years some of those athletes have begged Bolton to coach them, and he has said NO. While there were some talented athletes that club, they were poorly managed. In fact, look at the results of Basweti and Muinda, the two guys from that who were busted....I think Mutinda ran a 2:14 marathon on dope? A 2:14 doesn''t mean shit! Those athletes were being run into the ground so they could win $1,500 here and $500 there at meaningless races, racing almost every weekend sometimes even two races in a weekend.
Rotich was one athlete that left the Amerikenyan group years ago, She is a very intelligent woman and she was one of the only ones who would commit to focusing on running only a few races a year as that is what Bolton required. She dedicated herself to winning the big ones and sacrificed. Look at the consistency in her results. This is what clean racing and hard work look like. Dont bash Santa Fe, and dont talk trash when you don't know the facts.Santa Fe is one of the best places in the US to train. You will see more success from Boltons runners because he is the real deal.
really? how outdated is this list. Muge and Chebet haven't run for scott in years. ..website doesnt even work.
check the facts before you start slinging mud
Mutinda and Basweti did not train under Bolton. They were Scott Robinsons athletes, part of the Amerikenyan club. see my other posts.
A legit Champ won Boston on Monday, Caroline Rotich.
She is the real deal and so is Bolton. get over it.
If you know so much why dont you tell us, who is this "whole group in Santa Fe" that you're talking about? If you know so much about running in Santa Fe why dont you tell us all. Sounds like some jealous mud slinging without any facts.
...and yes, those who dope deserve a lifetime ban!
Ryan, chill out.
Leirbag- I have been involved with running in Santa Fe for a long time and have seen everything play out with the training groups here. Ryan is a friend and I am just defending him because it pisses me off that people are trying to lump him in with the Amerikenyan group. I know all the guys/ girls in African training groups well as they have helped us over the years with the fun runs and school running clinics.
REALSANTAFE don't get mad and pissed off, remember you're on an anonymous message board, just keep supplying facts, personal experience, etc to counteract the non-facts, gossip, rumors, etc. You'll win in the end if you're right.
