You're right!!! When the achilles is acutely injured it is a big mistake to go lower. It will only increase the achilles stress and aggravate the injury. Maybe you can make a rational argument for using low heel drop when there is no injury to keep the achilles stretched. But definitely not when you have just aggravated it.
