Has this been answered? I ran for Aquinas way back in the day and Jeff Brazier was one of our coaches. Incredibly nice guy and a very good runner as well.

Brazier > Fischer
Brazier = stud in HS. Will barely improve in college. Guaranteed. Will never break 1:46 in college.
Fischer = stud in HS. Despite hype, will never be as good as Ritz in college, never mind Rupp.

You have neither the means nor the knowledge to guarantee anything about Brazier.
Thanks for the laughs, though.
Of all the greatest US high school 400-800 runners (47-1:48) I can't recall any that went on to become a top US miler.
George Kersh was the same type of talent.
Pete Richardson, Michael Glanville, Doug Herron, Marc Sylvester as well.
Undertrained runners that are 1:50-52 for 800 that are also sub-9:10 2 milers and Footlocker qualifiers pan out better statistically.
Everybody loves to predict the potential of extreme low mileage guys that run that fast for 800 in high school to move up and crush it in the 1500 in college and beyond but it hasn't happened in this country,
Well other than Alan Webb. The only one I can recall. Who also ran a 4:06 mile as a high school sophomore and was one of the best cross country runners in the nation by his senior year.
While Fisher is potential 3:50 miler down the road, Brazier is just as good at the 800 or better. A 1:45 college runner, maybe early on. He should hit 1:47 this summer. A 5 star recruit!
Drake Gaurthier, I have raced him many times within my four years of HS, he is a talented athlete, but he is terribly inconstant and is a guy who never warms up and is known for his cockiness.
In this specific race Brazier spent some time out in lane 2, and I bet if the race had been set up for him and Fisher had come up on him they would have both been pulled to faster times. I'd say his run today was worth 4:06-7 on an outdoor track. It's also 3 months before the championship phase, once he does some harder anaerobic work and if he's in the right race he could make a run for sub 4. Just putting this out there.

Your thoughts?
I disagree!
Whenever you can control the race and pull away like that, it is not close race even if you only win by a second. Also, Grant appeared to be racing as opposed to running for time and could have run faster if needed. With out a doubt the kid in second is a stud, but his 1:48 800 means he'll probably run 1:47 this year, but his mile time will probably only improve by a few seconds and won't get down into the 4 flat range which is where grant will end up. This will be an interesting kid to watch out form at the college level.
Yall just don't like this guy cuz he's black. And sure enough, when the time comes for him to backpedal through the tape 5 seconds ahead of Fisher Price, you'll say that Fisher is the better runner just not "fit" yet.
If Brazier were to eventually land healthy at NOP, given their focus on form, he could be a total monster. Not to mention that he'd be so hyped he'd be oozing UPEDs out his doped dorsals.
#dopedorsals
Steve Scott (880 kid who survived a rough transition to a high-mileage college program)Casting the net a little farther, Nat Brannen for sure:1:46 to top Canadian miler.Elijah Greer is at least doing decent sticking with the 800.But, yeah, most of the really fast 800 kids don't pan out all that well and the move up is too much for them. Then you have Coe who moved down from 3000 to become one of the best 800 guys ever.

HAHa, Drake is definitely talented athlete. Apparently once he pulled something or had to drop out, but those days are gone. Stanbury is on his case and he IS warming up. Thanks for trying to bring someone down on these posts.
He ran 1525 in XC. Cat runs 1:47 low, 4;02 this year
So is Brazier "fit" yet?Fisher just solo'd a 4:01.X (non-trip estimate).Looks like Brazier needs to make sure his house is in order first.Thoughts?
So I am gonna watch Brazier run... a what.. 3:57! Man I can't wait! Hope we all get the heads up when he runs what he will have to, ta beat Grant! Geez now that I think, maybe 3:57 won't do it.
Donavan's uncle Jeff Brazier ran and coached at aquinas college
Donavan is the future of 800m running. If anybody is on the trajectory to break Johnny Gray's record, it's this kid. Obviously a long time a way, but goodness does this kid look good!
If you haven't heard about John Lewis from PA you may want to check this kid out too.
He has run 47.6 open 400, 1:48.7 open 800, and he can hurdle 37.7 300h/52.4 400h
He has been on a role and I he is on a team that has run 3:13 for the 4x4 so I'd like to see his splits on there. These 2 guys are super talented obviously with John having incredible speed endurance to be able to run such incredible hurdle times.

This is why there are so many anonymous twits on LRC.
