I'm a sophomore in high school and Im high jumping 5'6" and I have a bunch of questions. My last meet I kept hitting my next height by my calves (Like barely grazing it). Could it be because of the distance from the bar I jump from, or me not kicking up enough or quickly enough? Would a stronger core and abs help in kicking up more? It seems I can get everything over 6'0 besides my calves even on a short, shallow approach.
