That reminds me of the time I ran with headphones on and a tree fell on my head. Lucky it bounced off the plastic and I lived.
My resting heartrate the day I turned 50 was 42. Had a cold a couple days later and it was in the mid 50s.

Make age 55, 44 bpm.
It's been around 40 bpm for the past 40 years.
Sometimes at the end of a 4-5 month base build I'll get 38 bpm.
Max in the past 3 years has been 200-216 bpm, sprinting the last 800m of a hilly 10 mile race, or an max 5,000m.
