oh you moron. you do realize that the rotation of the earth is different than the earth's orbiting of the sun??? you see the earth orbits the sun but ALSO is rotating. the rotation is what gives us the 24hr day while the orbit is what gives us the year. you seem to be confusing them.
now to be more technically correct: ignoring all other massive objects, the sun and the earth could be described as rotating about each other at a point equal to their center of mass. this is of course near the center of the sun b/c it is far more massive.
Ummm...speaking of morons, you do realize that folks thinking that the Sun travels around the Earth are thinking of this as the reason behind the fact that there is a sunrise and a sunset each day (ummm...kinda caused by the Earth's rotation).
