1) Once again: Why do so many LRCers spell words like "pussy" in a funny way? Why not just spell things the regular way? That said:
2) Booze is actually a major factor. Little-known (apparently) facts: it's actually illegal for someone under 21 to drink alcohol, and it's illegal for another person to give a sub-21 person alcohol. I truly think that teams that want to win should stop committing crimes! I have seen squads whose seasons were basically wiped out by drinking; and others (rojo wrote about one this season) that have improved amazingly when they "went dry." But anyway:
3) The *loss of sleep* that goes along with partying is probably as big a factor as the alcohol itself--maybe bigger, actually. Imagine a team whose members all went to bed "today" (i.e. before midnight) for an entire season! And that relates to:
4) Pussy. As Bill Bowerman and other coaches have observed, it's not the sex per se but the chasing sex (including late nights) that tends to mess guys up. Plenty of married collegiate athletes have done well, over the years (see BYU for examples), probably because they have settled schedules and few late nights.
