I am doing 1 long run per week for 800M training. Should the long run be like 4-6 miles, or an actual long run (8-10 miles)? I'm not going to do anything over 10 miles

Someone answer this
A 4-6 mile run should not a long run for an 800m runner... maybe for a 200/400 guy just moving up to include the 800 (but not focus on the 800) in their racing schedule, but otherwise an 800m runner should probably be running 5-8 miles on most distance days. A long run would be almost twice that (say, 10-12 miles).
800m does have a strong aerobic component that can't be ignored, so unless the 800m is the upper end of your spectrum you should be running more (or else should probably be focusing more on the 400m).

It should be an actual long run. In order to achieve your true potential in the 800, you need to be able to run decently from 400-5k.
If your not willing to do a long run, or run more then 10 miles for a long run, don't run the 800... stick to the 400
why would you answer your own question. not smart methinks
50-60 minutes
Rudisha's long run is 12km, which is around 7.5 miles. He is the GOAT, Nuff said.
Despite what others have said, you dont have to run a great 5k (or even a respectable one) to run a great 800. When I first broke 1:50 my 5k pr was around 18 flat to give you an idea.
The long run depends on what kind of runner you are. What are your 400, 800, and 1500 prs?
