I'd also pick the run I did for my first high school practice. One mile on the NYC reservoir, from 90th St to the half-mile house, and back.

To heaven?
Mt. Tabor Park - Portland, Oregon
Troll Answer: Not escaping the animal that is trying to eat me.
Real Answer: Don't really care where, so long as it happens during sunset, under a wind-swept sky, my eyes focused on the western horizon. I reach the end of my run and sit down to take it all in, close my eyes, and gently drift off to sleep, never to awaken again.
There's a 5K loop that I used to run when I lived in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. It goes through John Paul Jones Park, the Shore Road Bike Path, then past the VA hospital and along 92nd st, finishing up on Ft. Hamilton Pkwy where I grew up. I loved running that loop.
Central park. Not that its the best place to run or anything just in that it is sentimental

where are these trails? redwood regional park?
Redwood Regional ain't too secret and it is mostly Eucalyptus.
But you knew that.
My final run would be in some new interesting place.
I would do the Cumberland Gap national park ridge from point to point about 21 miles. Its a trail I challenge myself with about once a year. Obviously if its my last run it would probably not be that fast and I would probably take the time to enjoy some of the overlooks and landmarks I have simply ran past on my previous runs.
I haven't found that place yet.
St Patrick's County Park
Probably on the shoulder of a road where a driver isn't paying attention.

So, this girl saying she as going to die soon made you think of a fun thread about your final run?
You're asking her about making plans for a race that she may not be around for.

So you're saying its some sort of Iceland/Greenland Viking ironic naming thing and they named it Redwood Regional b/c it has no Redwoods?
I think you're thinking of J. Miller park. Deep in Redwood (down French trail, etc) there are plenty of redwoods. Along the ridge trail and where you meet Miller there's not many redwoods.
So anyway, where are these secret trails? I mean, it is pretty amazing to me that they could be unknown to all mankind yet still be groomed for you to run on. Fascinating.
The chemo didn't work so now she has a year to live.Uh huh. Right.I happen to have had chemo, that's not how it works.

I invited a friend to do the Big Sur Half with me next year. She said she'd love to. 20 minutes later she started crying. said her chemo didn't work and the doctor told her she has one year left to live.
Life is short. Run while you can.

Do you read backwards? He didn't know.
How is this a "fun" thread?
In the park a block away from where I grew up, where I first learned to ride a bicycle, where I ran a thousand miles as a teenager and where I now coach a high school team. Long ago I decided my ashes will be scattered there.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
