Where do you buy your running shoes?

Seriously? Running warehouse has almost everything listed at full retail price. Pretty easy to find better pricing...and quicker service.

They're owned by zappos, which is owned by Amazon.

It takes a bit of looking, but there are good deals once in a while. And ad long as you're good with odd colors or last year's model of shoe, you can't beat the price.

Sizes are hard to come by, too, though. Very hit-or-miss.

Seriously. Local running store didn't take back a pair after they didn't fit and they cost more. I thought they fit fine after standing in them, my fault. I then went on running warehouse and ordered two and sent the ones that fit back for free.

yes, but I'm guessing everyone knows a 15% off code that would work. Plus, they usually get delivered to my house within 2 days.

Running Warehouse. Free return shipping with no hassle. Quick turnaround times on exchanges. Great business concept really.

Delivery is quick but obviously nothing will be quicker than the local running store. Local running store or runningwarehouse is the way to go.

I bought a pair of Asics Japan Lite-ning (top-of-the-market sprint spikes) from them on closeout for $29. They DO have sales.

Running Warehouse are good guys and I'll give them the first shot, and if they don't have it (usually) then it's usually Eastbay.

I'll also point out that last year Adidas had a Cyber Monday sale that it seems hardly anybody but me seemed to know about. I bought a pair of Adidas Prime SP (the Tyson Gay "Trinity" Spike) for $40 off plus free shipping. Direct from Adidas, and the best deal going. I don't know if they're doing it again this year, but it's worth a look areound Thanksgiving.

Always from my local running store. I might be able to find my shoes cheaper elsewhere but I would rather the local guy get my money than one of the corporations that own the online stores.

If there was a shoe I wanted that the local store didn't have I would go online to get it, no problem. Unless that happens, I'm going to the store.

Serious question - is Running Warehouse still the best place to buy super running shoes?

I make a point of trying to give the local running store our business. Too often they don’t carry the specific shoe I’m looking for, and I also really want to buy on sales, but I try to get as much as I can from them.

Are there still blogs etc that have a RW code? … I haven’t had a working one in many years

*IF* I know exactly what I want in the size I know is correct, ebay is the place. You can buy Alphafly V1 on ebay any day of the week for $150-170, depending on size/color. If I'm trying a shoe I haven't used before, then RW or Road Runner Sports (where as VIP you always get % off list, plus use any rewards dollars).

Other than that, keep a look out for extra deals. Right now you can get the first color Adidas Pro 3 for $175, and with an extra 30% off, that's $122 for a current "super" shoe.

Dick's has an outlet store called Going Going Gone that has a surprising amount of Vapor/Alphaflies at huge discounts. I've seen Endorphin Pros and some solid daily trainers as well. Worth taking a look if you have one close

My closest specialty running store is an hour's drive away and has high prices and not a great selection. I occasionally buy shoes there if I want to try something new, but usually it's online. Running Warehouse has a good selection and gives good advice but Holabird and Eastbay often have much better prices. And I buy quite a few shoes from Amazon, particularly previous years' models. I'm a wide-footed female who usually ops for a men's size 8. That's not such a common size and in an older model it's often unavailable, but when available it's often deeply discounted.
