Well? What's his excuse? Why is he ducking if he's in such good shape???

Probably got spooked after his medical scare. Didn't want to risk losing any money from sponsorships. What's the risk/reward for competing in the DL final?
Most likely just needs to build his confidence back up.
Because 8:07 isn't that fast. Several guys can run that and as shown, Farah isn't in the kind of shape to finish fast at that pace.
If he is in 8:07 shape the way he ran it from the front then he is as fot as anyone in the world. Honestly, 2014 has been a financial year for Mo. London offered huge prize money and a home meet im Birmingham offers a large appearance fee. If he is waiting until after Rio to start running marathons, then from an economical standpoint it was wise of him to support his family with a meaningless year like this and bring in some money.
"[R]eal competition"? Like the Olympics and the World Championships?
He really thinks that being the best is just about winning major championships, not winning daimond leagues. He doesn't like fast races because he gets bigger contract bonuses for not losing big races in europe and peaking for championships.

There hasn't been real competition in the 10k in almost 10 years.
Tegenkamp ran 8:07, and Mottram ran 8:03. Just sayin'
Bekele's 5k world record pace per lap is actually a couple tenths of a second faster than Mo's 2 mile today.

That should read Mo's 2 mile pace per lap today.

That should read Mo's 2 mile pace per lap today. And it's really only a couple hundredths of a second faster.

I guess he should have been born earlier. What a wimp.
Because even a big mazungo can run 8:03 looking relaxed. Mo ain't shiit.
Here's how it works: Mo debates racing. Ticket sales slow. Meet promoter guarantees no testing for 2 mile. Mo steals centro sauce, replaces with apple juice. Proceeds to run 8:07 untested. Centro bombs. Season compete. Brits happy. Americans confused.

Why would you guess that? And why would that make him a wimp?

Like a race involving someone else at or near 8:07 caliber.
If he was a boxer he'd be fighting bums. The fans would jeer at him. Sanctioning bodies would warn him to fight a real challenger or vacate his belt.
I don't understand how British fans can respect him. Sure they tolerated Coe and Ovett ducking each other, but at least both of them ran a lot of races against people who occasionally beat them. Mo ducks everyone but pushovers. That they tolerate it shows how low they've sunk in athletics.
I give Olympic & WC Gold Medalists the benefit of the doubt.
Did he duck the London Marathon? A race that included a ridiculous amount of the fastest guys in the world ever. He ran a race he was never going to win. Everyone can go on about the money he made for running that race but he still knew he wasn't going to win.
Did he not run against Bekele in the Great North Run last year. Oh, and what about the NYRR half Marathon.
You'll never believe who I bumped into in Central Park on Tuesday morning (pic)
