Isn't this a bit of the tail wagging the dog? I mean, most people tune into the Super Bowl to see the Half Time show. That is also why most advertisers pay the big bucks. The game has become secondary to the spectacle. No one cares about the game, at least no one that wouldn't already be watching the game on a normal Sunday or Monday evening.
I am a sports fan, but even I think this is stupid. It sounds like it came from the echo chamber of some self-important meeting at 345 Park Avenue.
