Does taking a depression medication mask the effects of over training?
I'd almost think they would intensify the feeling of tiredness and sluggishness, not block it.

Well, you're expecting those symptoms when you're on meds. You could be overtrained but you'd just chalk it up to the meds, not to the overtraining.

if it is a classic SSRI then it will probably compound overtraining. if it is wellbutrin then it might mask it bc wellbutrin releases norepinephrine and dopamine.

Yes, for better or for worse. Typically, hard training sessions set off an inflammatory cascade which results in low mood and generalized sluggishness; SSRIs and SNRIs reduce this feedback mechanism, which is probably not a good thing in the long term.
