I'll save a few folks the effort of having to read through older posts as it has already been discussed. Many will say, "no," runners of all fitness levels exhibit all sorts of running patterns and "form" characteristics.
I would certainly agree.
However, a common thread of patterns that could be made to help improve running performance would be nice to know. Research has already been conducted in these areas by various authors and coaches(thank you) and I plan to take their efforts a step further with this analysis.
Many others will say, just run more and do not bother trying to fix someone's arm carriage, stride length/frequency, footfall pattern, etc. I would not disagree, nor is that the point of this examination. However, there has to be a "better" way of doing something; even if it is a miner change. The breast stroke is an older swimming stroke than the freestyle. The freestyle is a faster stroke. Hence, someone found and agreed on a more efficient (in terms of speed) stroke at some point.
That is a drastic example, I realize. However, it does apply.
If all I find from this is that runners with better economy/efficiency/etc. tend to run with their tongue out, then that will be more useful than not knowing that.
Hint: I am being facetious with that last sentence.
Thank you all for your efforts.
