What exactly was happening with Tsegay and Seyaum? It was easy enough to see the hand signals on the 2nd lap - but what was it really saying? "I'm stringing things out for the next x meters?" At one point it looks like Tsegay was going to give Seyaum a free pass on the inside if she wanted it. A little later on - Seyaum had to throw some elbows to get herself free. Is the unspoken policy to work together until the bell and then it's anybody's game, no favors, etc...
It does seem to be the m.o. for both the Ethiopians and the Kenyans to work together until the last lap...
Thoughts on what Tsegay was signaling to Seyaum?
