They actually bothered to train hard - not a bunch of whinners like people on LR. They ran 26 miles per day at fast speeds (sub-5.30/mile), just like Radcliffe (although she did fewer miles, which is why her Marathon was so slow). LR people think jogging an hour per day is good enough, then scream that anyone who does more must be doping. What a bunch of losers - no wonder the American records are a joke. Even Jim Ryun trained reasonably hard and progressed quickly because of that - running 120 miles per week (much as Interval training) to be a Miler. If you are not prepared to run 30-40 x 400m in under a minute then you have no business in even trying to be a world-class runner. I know of a HS girl running 2 x 10 x 200m in 30sec with a 30sec recovery, that is the minimum! Any self-respecting guy should be able to do 4-5 x that much work. Get off your lazy butts and actually train - 150-200 miles per week at close to 4.30 per mile, then you too will become a decent runner. In fact you should be training ALL day - it might take a few years (like it did with these wonderful chinese ladies), but what else do you have to do with your sorry lives anyway.
