He could start by raising gas prices (using this tragedy as a smokescreen) to further punish Americans.

So that's where Saddam's mobile weapons labs ended up. The D\ick was right!

As someone mentioned above, the U.S. has accidentally done this before too, and with almost similar results. An overaggressive commander of a US navy ship shot down Iranian flight #655 with 290 civilians on board in 1988.
I've watched several cable stations covering this, and they mention the Russians doing this to that Korean Airliner, but no mention of the U.S. ever doing the same thing.
What does that have to do with anything?
Mccain just woke up from his afternoon nap and before he could get all the facts, he is already pushing for some kinda action.
Putin was just at the World Cup meeting and sitting with Merkel at the final. You'd think he would wait more than 4 days before signing off (whether tacitly or explicitly) on separatists shooting down a plane flying out of Amsterdam filled with Dutch, German, and American tourists.

A lot is yet to be known, but it most likely will turn out to be an act of mistaken identity in which pro-Russian rebels shot down what they thought was a Ukrainian cargo plane, even though they will deny it. When the U.S. shot down that Iranian flight, it too was mistaken identity, even though nothing should have indicated it should have been perceived as an aggressive plane. Neither side in the Ukrainian conflict would benefit from shooting down an international passenger flight. It was a very violent and aggressive act today, but it was tragic collateral damage in the Ukrainian conflict, even though some people are calling for retaliation. Commercial aircraft should not have been anywhere near there. There were two other passenger flights nearby at the same time and they could have been shot down too.
https://twitter.com/flightradar24/status/489843415002001408The Russians are claiming that this was an attempt to assasinate Putin. No one does propaganda better than Russian leaders. And I bet the people of Russia will buy it.

American propaganda>>>Russian Propaganda. American propaganda is broadcast around the world, has gigantic mimetic consequences, and is considered entertainment. Our news sources have become government mouthpieces (more than they ever were at least.)
My favorite porn stars, Ivana Sugar and Red Fox, are from the Ukraine. Neither seem capable of shooting down a plane.

Wake up folks! This is 9/11 all over again. Our "innocent" government is setting us up for another big war effort to keep those war dollars flowing to their buddies. What are a few hundred lives when there are Billions to be made?
And you folks are being led around like sheeple. Some things never change.
I'm sure tragedy monger Alex Jones is already saying this is a "false flag" and that the CIA shot down the plane to divert attention from all the immigration problems on the Texas-Mexico border.
It would be stunning if he isn't saying shit like that.
We don't know that this isn't a smokescreen for the Obama administration get away with more shady activities.
Let's not jump to any conclusions before Pat Robertson has had a chance to explain why this is God's punishment for our tolerance of gays and muslims.
Fair enough. I'll chill out for a while.
Agreed on most of your post. Maybe this will force someone over there to resolve the Ukranian crisis. Putin CANNOT be happy about this. It is going to look bad for him regardless of how the situation happened.
Putin does not care about looking bad.

This. Assuming the pro-Russian separatists are controlled or supported by old KGB big shots, some of their heads have probably already rolled. This is akin to a mobster shooting a cop without the boss' approval. You don't survive that.

Kind of makes all those who judge the Suzy Favor Hamilton situation and SFH, seem pretty stupid and pointless in comparison to real life real negatives like this...

What do you suggest? Invade Iraq?
He should immediately blame Republicans, the Tea Party and Sarah Palin. Then proceed to his next golf game or vacation. Obama as President and John Kerry as Sec of State. What could go wrong?

A lot less wrong than if President Ted Cruz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were running this country.
