Being that she is an American NCAA champ and represented by a legit agent, she probably got got a couple hundred for attending and a couple hundred for finishing first...not a bad day-at-the office.

i think roessler will run at least 1:57 in her career and may even dip under 1:57.

Not training under Rose Monday. She may ride off her training at Oregon next season, but after that, we need to pray for her.

Uceny's PB is 1:58.37 (2011).

I wish she would run more 800s just to get her wheels back.

Super speed belongs on the first lap and it's Johnny Gray what can train her for that.

She needs to go with someone like Johnny Gray or Greg Brock. Look what happened to Vessey under Monday. Roesler has plenty of potential, but needs to train as a 400/800 runner, not a 800/1500 runner like Monday did with Vessey.

Laura Roesler appears close in ability to Mariya Savinova, who parlayed 51.43 400 speed into 800m Olympic gold and World Championship gold and silver in 2011-2013. That's a much better championship record than Johnny Gray had.

Savinova won by closing fast over the last 200 after being off the lead at 400. At her best she ran even or negative splits to run 1:55.

Roesler runs that way, if not quite that fast yet. It works; she's lost only once, to Ajee Wilson, all season at 800 meters. She needs a coach who can get her to Savinova's level running the way she does, not one who will try to change her style. Johnny Gray would not be a good choice to coach her.

Who does Monday coach besides Roesler?

She just graduated from college and went pro. She's had only 2 races since college, USA Outdoors and this race. She WON them both. I'd give her and her coaching situation/Rose Monday a while to play itself out before making judgement, it could work out or it could not, only time will tell. One thing with Roesler, she is a phenomenal athlete given her range from the sprints thru middle distances.

My point is that you can't fully evaluate a coach's merits based on one athlete that they coached for a couple years. Would you not agree?
