In fact, the times are consistently 17 seconds slow.

This is not a good year for Peachtree. A bunch of hobby joggers over on ATC's Facebook page are reporting the same 15-20 second discrepancy across multiple corrals. I figured it was people who didn't know when to stop their watch (i.e. the same folks who say the course is long based on their garmin)... but sub elites are not going to be that far off on their times, and even hobby joggers can stop/start their watch with more than 20 seconds of accuracy.
Sounds like they came up about 8000-9000 shirts short, which is a pretty impressive screw up too,
Several years ago, ATC had to move the whole course with only a couple of months notice, and pulled that off pretty darn flawlessly.
Only one big thing has changed this year -and thats the new RD Rick. He's done an impressively poor job managing things it seems. Shameful a great event has turned into a cluster.

Is RD "Rick" in fact Rich Kenah?
Yes. Sorry. Poster several threads above in the elite corral said Rich was the one that made the call to have the elites and the "emerging elites" start in two different waves. Buck stops at the top regardless, but in this case, reports are he was on the ground making the decision himself.

Yes. And I agree with it being a rough year. Been issues at the smaller races as well...

well, something is messed up. In the earlier results,
Ty was listed as 15. Somehow, he's now disappeared from the update results without a trace?
DQ for running to fast and making ATC look bad?
15 0:29:41 Ty Mccormack 402 M 21 Gainesville Ga. Details
This dude is listed as first in the 25-29 age group but not in Men's Open. Maybe, since he wasn't listed as an "elite", he isn't in those results??? Freaking garbage...
And now the 2014 results are taken down from the website and it says 'check back soon'... debacle.

Examples of issues at the smaller races?

My buddy is a full-fledged USATF member who has competed in USAXC champs. He was given confirmation of his "Elite" start status via email. He's composing a press release of his own, hope to get posted soon.
Wow, talk about a screw up then on Rich's part.
Results are up on ajc.com
Still incorrect. 16 seconds off on Ty's time, my time, and several of my friends' times. How do you screw up that bad when you have chip timing? And why the "Elites" started some arbitrary amount of time ahead of us, I do not understand.
Hell of a run by Ty. It's a shame he wasn't given the opportunity to actually race the guys up front. How to go North Hall Alum!

For what it's worth, it appears McCormack's time has been corrected but it's not showing up in the open results. Knowing Ty he could careless, beforehand he told me he was training through the race and that it was a hard tempo effort. Hope to see big things from him this fall.
and the shit show continues. congrats ATC
Hey guys I can provide some additional color. The issues at the ATC have been ongoing since Tracy Russell left in mid-'13, if not before. They have bitten off quite a bit more than they could chew. Doubled if not tripled those on staff, mainly with ditzy marketing type undergrads who mean well but don't know anything about running...they've turned the ATC into a marketing firm, as opposed to a running club.
They've killed their unique 5M/10M/15M races, their cross country races, etc...and introduced more gimmicky 5Ks that finish on the field at the Georgia Dome or at Turner Field, and changed their focus from being a running club to being a charity that raises money for kids and encourages the masses to get off the couch and go walk a 5K. Admirable causes, but they've left their core membership, and their own expertise, in the dust. And they've done all this without an executive director. Rich didn't join until early '14.
They tried to kill their Grand Prix racing series of free races to members in '14 but longtime members and local elites cried foul loud enough to reverse the decision for '15. I don't call myself a hobby jogger...I was in corral A right behind the subelites yesterday, and my 47:xx time was off by 16 seconds as well. It was my 23rd straight Peachtree...the weather had never been better...and all-American field was exciting to see...and the ATC screwed it up...that sucks. I feel embarrassed as a long time ATC member. Running out of shirts and food for the masses is emblematic of the disorganization I've seen out of the ATC for the last year or two. I doubt many hobby joggers noticed, but the awards ceremony seemed disorganized this year and it was delayed as we all had to wait for Meb to arrive and be interviewed on stage first. I hate that we weren't able to see as competitive a race as we could have seen yesterday.
I've been involved with the ATC this year trying to get them to keep at least some of their focus on actual running, and I've talked to Rich a few times and he seemed like the right guy to get the ship turned around, but if he was in fact on the line pushing back sub-elites...this needs media attention. Unfortunately, the event doesn't involve SEC football, so in Atlanta few will care.
He was there in a heated argument with one other late entry elite and Kevin Castille . I over heard him telling them that he will disqualify them if they cross that line towards the elites. Kevin Castille is no sub elite nor is Mbarak Hussein, Campbell. We had to wait 1:00 after the elite men and masters times are 1:40 seconds off.
All the non-elite times have been corrected by 16 seconds, but the masters times are still wrong.
Any way to get this thread bumped up to homepage status? I'm a bit new to LRC. This seems like the kind of news that LRC would want to publish on the main page.

strange it didnt make it there
So where are the results available? The searchable results won't show the whole field.
Here are updated results...McCormack's showing 9th now....wonder if they're clawing back checks and redistributing prize money...
No prize $ for Ty as he still has eligibility
