I didn't see him fall. He was up near the front for a bit but to be honest I lost track of him as I was watching the race. Still, it takes more than a fall to come in at 4:09.

Wow, he was in the lead at 800m (a pretty suicidal 1:51). Kinda respect him for finishing after dying that hard

Last lap over 80 seconds? That's gotta be some kind of record for DL 1500s!

I've blown up in races before. Badly. I can't fathom running 80+ the last lap, though, and I was only a 4:1x miler not a sub 4 miler.

It's much worse than that unless I'm totally wrong about who Benabbad is. I see him off the back just a bit with 100 to go and the clock reads 3:20.

Not sure what happened but apparently he "ran" the last 100 in 49 seconds.

Maybe he paused to get in a fight with either a mascot or Mehdi Baala.

At least he finished like a man would, Rupp would've canned it after 800m.

Different people cope differently with running while fasting. It's certainly not an easy thing to do, speaking form experience.
