Hey guys. So I'm lazy and also need help figuring out a training plan for the summer. I'm severely out of shape (17:30ish shape vs pr of 15:10). And I want to keep my mileage under 25-30 a week because I'm trying to pack on some serious muscle of the summer. I ran my PR on 20-30 miles as well.
I was thinking like 5 times a week do 5-7 miles. Average about 6:30 pace. And then maybe once a week a tempo and maybe once a week some speedwork. Would that be bad if I'm trying to peak in november?
I'm racing an 8k then. I want to focus on the mile or 800 so that way extra muscle won't slow me down too much. So I figure just get into good miling shape and run the 8k on that fitness. I'll probably then get on the track and see if I can run a PR in the 8, 15, or 5000
Any suggestions?
Like what are good track work sessions for an 800 guy?
