When I meet new people and share my life story which includes competitive running I usually get a look like "You ran that fast? Wow. What happened since? Do you still run?". I have a few newspaper clippings and results stored in my phone just in case doubts kick in. No reason to lie. But the answer is no, I don't run anymore other than an occasional trail run.
I am not obese just thickened semi-proportionally after I stopped running. Unfortunately, I suffer from fatigue even at the thought of running which is perhaps weird given my once 100-mile weeks. I am currently over 200 lbs, have a size 36 waist and I am about six feet tall. My older brothers (non runners) all have stocky builds too. I went from being a muscular stick to a pear.
The part that I am envious of is that many people I went to high school and college with stay the same weight without having to exercise regularly. Some never even exercised in the first place. I enjoy eating but I don't over eat which is why I don't get why my body hoards the weight.
Anyone else in the same boat as me? Share your story, leave some advice.
