I'm not. the very well connected guy behind me in the press room is. He makes his living in this sport.
Were the men hit by a bus? I come back 10 minutes later and there's two guys all alone up front with 30+ second lead.
It's one thing to be in the lead but Shalane hasn't been way out in front like Kim Smith a couple years ago where her energy was used up so much more than all of the other runners in the late miles before she got injured anyway, Shalane might be able to stick with it to the end
Shalane starts fading soon, she doesn't look good and everyone is packed behind her
Interesting how Shalane is doing more running in the shade than the other runners.
If Shalane holds on for the victory will it be the greatest American sporting accomplishment EVER???

About 10 seconds off the chase pack though moving up

Personally I'd rather see her win than see her leading the first 20 miles.
But maybe that's just me.
I'm betting she's prepared tactically with her coach for this kind of run than you have. I'm betting she thinks this is her best chance to win. Sure, we'll never know until the end. She isn't alone on the road.
shalane looks tired.... :(

Indubitably.

Shalane has been on this course almost every day the last 4 months. She has every mile, turn, and hill memorized. She is burying these Africans!!
Shalane is running great tangents. Crazy how elites are often all over the road and on the wrong sides of it. Always run the shortest course, curve to curve, turn to turn, spot the next curve/turn and run a straight line to it. Over 26.2 miles, it can be the difference of 100m or 200m.

I didn't think she looked good from the get-go. She has that long loping stride compared to all the women chasing her.

I don't think that guy knows how cycling works.
She looks pretty much exactly how she did at mile one. Her stride and arm carriage aren't quite as smooth as some, but she hasn't changed noticeably since the beginning of the race. She could do it!!!

Yet gamely holding on for an extra few minutes of TV time for her sponsor.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
