Two teams ran 7:11 today but what do you think they can do in the Bahamas?
Rudisha 1:42
Kitum 143.5
Jeremiah Mutai 143.5
Ferguson Cheruiyot 143.5
Total 6:52.5

What is the WR? Yea I'm sure Google will tell me, but if you went this far to add up a theoretical, why not go the extra distance and talk about by how much this dream team could smash the WR?
No other team could push Kenya(A) 4x800 to the theoretical limit. Even team USA(A) would struggle to run 7:00.00 in perfect conditions.

You are right, but a USA v Kenyan 4x800 would still be a great race, maybe throw in UK & Ethiopia to make things interesting.
Take away Rudisha and it's even an even closer race but still possibly under 7:00.
2013 top 4s
USA:
Symmonds 1:43.03
Solomon 1:43.27
Johnson 1:43.84
Mulder 1:44.34
----------6:54.48
Kenya:
Cheruiyot 1:43.22
Rudisha 1:43.87
Mutai 1:44.14
Kinyor 1:44.24
----------6:55.37
Throw in some flying starts and given peak condition (doubtful) and aggressive running (more doubtful) it is possible that these teams could approach 6:53.
Throw in race tactics, and these teams could run 7:01

These athletes' best times were run in paced circuit races when in peak form. The likelihood that all 4 in any team will run as fast as their best in a relay situation over 2 laps, where they are less likely, especially on the later legs, to get the same drafting as a single race, is highly doubtful. A time of around 7:00 is an impressive target in the real world.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
