Somebody please tell me, what is it about? I have not read it before but have seen that it has great reviews, thinking about making a purchase.

it is a must read book fot runners, especially for college guys. John l. parker really captures all the feelings and thoughts a true runner would go through.
Its the runners bible.
go to amazon.com next time and click on review, all you need to know.
I read "Once a runner" and thought is was just ok. Maybe it was knowing that it was fiction or the guy's writing style. Some may have liked the author's poetic writing style but I thought it made the book more difficult to read.
The book that has been one of my all-time greats is "The Perfect Mile" by Neal Bascomb. This is an incredible book that was tough to put down. For anyone that hasn't read this book, GET IT! You will be happy you did.
I bought mine used for $10 and coulnt tell it from a brand new book. Here's the link:
Has anyone ever read "Bannister & Beyond - The mystique of the 4 min. mile" ? If so, was it any good? I was thinking about it as my next purchase.
"Once a Runner" is exceptional.
I read Once A Runner. The next day my backpain was completely gone!
A buddy of mine let me borrow his copy of Once a Runner a few weeks ago. I kinda forgot about it and didn't pick it up for awhile. When I finally did start reading it, wow! What a great book! I highly recomend it. I'm very much looking forward to the sequal.
I read Once a Runner and developed near magical powers. I use them for good and am now a full fledged member of the Hall of Justice where I work with Batman, Superman, Aquaman and others to fight crime.
I read it and look what I was able to do.
Maybe a good book for a HS runner, but beyond that I don't know. Having just read it as a 30+ year old it just didn't grab me.
The book is exceptional. It gave me much needed energy to get through workouts on a few occasions. J.L.P. put a lot of things into words that we have all been trying to say for years when it comes to running. The 400 meter workout and the chapter over breaking down are must reads even if your not interested in reading the entire book.
The PointMAN
Does anyone know any detaisl of the sequal, not storyline or anything, but when it will be available or where?
Ditto Mate. As a kiwi with experience as a College Runner it made me appreciate it more.
I read it for the 5th time this year.
What makes my copy really special is JP has signed it for me.
