hey guys, i'm a senior this year in my second year of xc. i'm not really that good of a runner but i'm definately already improving from last year. there's a 5k race that i'm planning on running november 20th (saturday). our xc season ends tuesday 10-18. is it okay for me to just jump in to week 5 of a 5k training program since i already have a good base? ps - i'm a female so i race 4k, not 5k.
or is it better for me to just start with week 1 and only go as far as i can?? or.. should i just drop the guide all together and just run how far and often as i want, since i'm not really a competitive runner/racer anyways since i've never run a 5k race before. (last spring i did run a 5 mile race and ran it in 49:50 i think)
any advice would be appreciated... thanks.
