I didn't see the race but she wasn't close to qualifying and there was a time qualifier in her race.
Ajee ran so well last year at Worlds this was surprising.
What happened to anyone who saw it?

Ajee Wilson Goes Out - What Happened

She was never really in it once the real racing began and was shot out the back that last lap with no real kick.
-
The kid is 19. She can have a bad race. Indoors is a lot different and way more physical.
That British woman, Laura Muir, bombed out as well. It happens. It's called racing. -
She had to be sick or injured or something. From the start it looked like she didn't try. It looked like a 60+ second opening 400 was all she had.
-
It had to be the jetlag

Muir was tripped up and nearly went down then made the rookie mistake of trying to make up for lost distance with too hard a move too early on. Her not qualifying is understandable in that sense, but Wilson was never in it to begin with. -
Too bad. I was wrong. hard to understand but maybe she was sick or injured. Outdoors, she has never disappointed.

I think Alberto had something to do with this.

Henriksdottir was DQ'd for incidental non-contact (finished second otherwise). Unlike USATF where we allow the runners to fight it out in Lane 1.

You are actually wrong on the DQ. She was DQd for a lane violation.

Maybe the stopwatch was racist. I mean, those of us on here who refused to predict a medal for her were so labeled.
Waiting for apology..... -
Don't be stupid.

Learning experience for her - indoors requires getting into the race up front, she didn't and looked like she gave up a bit after falling back on the third lap. Goule beat her, and that should not happen, but at least she (Goule) is used to it from indoors at NCAA. Too bad as this wasn't a strong 800m field, but at 19 Ajee has time to learn and screw up now and then. This is the problem of not doing NCAA's except that the competition level just isn't that great for her (Goule has graduated so is ready for this level, I would hope). Maybe she should have used this opportunity to take on the field (as did Price) and learn to run from the front, something she rarely does.

Thanks for this. I thought I was being naive hoping for an apology and apparently I was. -

While young, Ajee Wilson has been around the block Indoors for sure, she has run a lot of races indoors for years now.
This was not a good effort, plain and simple.
That does happen. Maybe she should retire from Indoors like Symmonds is going to , as he said in his interview. -

Would have been more accurate to finish your subject line with a "?"
I was expecting to find an explanation on what happened.
Just sayin... -
From my analysis, at 19 years of age, Ajee should race in super tight bun huggers to improve her concentration.
