Is "Sports Speed" any good?

Sports Speed isn't bad, although there are better ones out there.
Actually, I would recommend Charlie Francis's "Training for Speed". Amazing book....though you can't really find it in print anymore, you have to buy it in e-book format for about $15 (more than worth the price) from
Don't be put off by Francis's drug stigma, there's nothing about that in there, but the training principles are often revolutionary and VERY effective. I can definitely see why Marion and Tim went to Francis in the first place (any drug allegations notwithstanding).
The man knows sprinting, period.
"Sportspeed" is more about speed development for sporting events like football and baseball that, say, running 100 meters.
Charlie Francis' books are largely out of print (maybe a few used ones), but all of his stuff is available on charliefrancis.com in ebook or dvd formats. The latter is what most people using his methods actually use.
