Now, where is your example?
She is the national champion so she wasn't dq'd.

Here's a girl named Anderson who was DQed in the Oly Trials 1500 semi, but was reinstated. Could only find this poor quality video, and didn't see any significant mishap involving Anderson:
Forget the stupid DQs. How are your legs feeling post-Cowtown? Was that marathon a one-off, or will you do another in the future?

Wrong. She was DQ'd, and Salazar got her reinstated.

PS.I am trying to keep this on topic so we have deleted posts re-hashing whether Grunewald DQ was technically legal or not. Our question is - have you every seen a similar action results in a DQ?
You would only be able to consider such events that were protested. This would be a very small #.
Most such events are never protested but that doesn't mean they might no have resulted in a DQ had the coach been as diligent as Al Sal.

Write a decent article.
Yours have been so full of hearsay and 2nd-hand accounts, it's laughable. Your "Most Popular Single Day" article reads like a 9/11-was-an-inside-job piece.
Again people we are looking for examples - not talk about extraneous stuff, but I'll respond to your post, let it stand for 30 minutes and then delete your post and mine (assuming you've read it by then).
2nd hand accounts? I talked to 3 people.
1) Justin Grunewald - eyewitness
2) Dennis Barker - eyewitness
3) Paul Doyle - employs the eyewitness.
I don't think I had any hearsay in there at all.
I'm quite proud of the story. Weldon looked up the stats and said it's nearly twice as popular as any sports story story in the Ft. Worth newspaper for all of 2013.
While I don't think GG should have been DQ'd man its like ive been visiting Fox news the past week. Everything 1 sided, LR just firing shots at NOP, Sal, Hasay, Nike. (and to a much less extent USTAF [which should have been their main target])
Even if Hasay's statement seemed somewhat PR written, I thought it would get Quote of the day. Nope quote stays the same 2 days in a row and then changes to Lomong's perspective on Salazar, another shot.
Seriously its like LR is just on a vendetta against anything Nike and then kinda the backstory of USTAF corruption.
Get over your shit Nike might be somewhat corrupt in pulling strings but USTAF shouldn't be the ones letting them pull strings. and without Nike LR wouldn't exist or atleast it would be nowhere close the popularity it has right now (i mean what would all the trolls do? b!tch about Brooks? lol)
Also citing a relative of GG as a witness, very reliable.

Steve Holman was DQd in the 1500m at the 1997 outdoor Nationals although no one hit the ground. He was trapped in a box on the back straight of the last lap and pushed people out of his way. He finished second on the track but did not go to Worlds.
Although the story mentions Shannon Lemora, it was actually Karl Paranya who was leading at the time and took the brunt of the contact.
Someone probably has the video. Here is a news link.

That's probably a good example, but Holman did go to worlds in 1997. Probably on account of only two qualifiers from the US.
good point. Like drawing a foul in basketball by exaggerating your response to a weak foul.

so if Hasay would have just taken a flop and got back up she goes to World's, I think falling is a bad measure.
So Salazar files a protest on behalf of a guy who finished 2nd to disqualify a guy who finished 8th? Not exactly being gracious in vanquishing an opponent.
I'm curious as to whether there is any historical example for this, because it seems like a completely unsportsmanlike, d-bag move. You've already beat the guy!

When did Weldon tell Alberto or any representative that he wa unwilling to tell his side of the story? I guarantee that they would love to interview Alberto. You can't say that letsrun is only telling one side of the story and not return phone calls.
For the record the WSJ onal y told alone side of the story as well. FOR THE SAME REASON

Ah yes, true enough. It looked bad on the day because people could chase the qualifier then. But they still couldn't get it.

I just watched than Monaco race with Solinsky about 10 times and still can't understand why he dropped out. Merga cut him off hard before he dropped out and whined but I can't see how he got knocked off the track by a 120 pound runner. I don't even see any contact. Merga never hit him he just crowded Solinsky's room and instead of using his elbows or hand to protect his space Solinsky ran off the track. Without a doubt the most pathetic thing I've ever seen by a world class runner.
But that's what you get with this great current generation of American distance runners who never learn to race. Just know flying out to Stanford two times a year for time trials. Meets set up for Americans to get their A or B standard in perfect rabbited races brought American running back from the pits but no one learns how to race anymore in or think how to react when pace is erratic.
First off, I tip my hat to wejo for starting this great thread. I think it illustrates exactly what many of us are struggling with - for those who say the DQs were justified (and there seem to be quite a few here), it would be helpful to provide one example on the professional level that something like this has ever happened before.
We are 30 something posts into it and no good examples have been provided yet.

Actually a couple have. That said, it probably doesn't happen very often to people who are in contention to win a race or make a team. Keep in mind that the video technology for instant high quality review is a fairly recent thing. If they are using that to make decisions then it's something that didn't exist several years ago. A lot of times things in real time are harder to spot because #1 you may not even be looking directly at and #2 you are certainly not looking for it. But if someone is affected and can protest and officials can watch a video several times in HD and perhaps several angles, a DQ call can be easier to make.
So again, who's really going to protest unless the outcome was substantial like not qualifying for the next round or a championship or not finishing in a top place at a championship. Those people in those situations would want to protest.
I have seen many people get tripped up or pushed in a qualifying round and end up in a final with the offender dq'd. I just can't recall the date and names now because the parties didn't mean enough to me. But this stuff does certainly happen.

I dont know what you were saying here, But yes I can say that they are only telling 1 side of the story. I fully understand they weren't able to interview any of the NOP runners (partly due to the already icy relationships between NOP and LR [which only accentuates the LR v Nike point, and sets them up to put out a 1 sided story]) but they specifically avoid points in which they could show an unbiased or less biased story, even just by rather than just putting the email from Alex Salazar in the article they should analyze it and realize both parties may not be telling the whole truth and to look for the medium.
During the "Insider Story" about the 3000m they mention Jordan Hasay's statement once, (in an editor's note at the top of the page) they have 6-7 points in which Nike/Salazar accused of "coercion" or screaming/confronting people (in which they have an email from Alex Salazar which goes against Justin Grunewald's statement[who knows which ones true?])
They however have 1 paragraph on the process in which the corruption occurred and then mention USATF 4-5 times (in times they matter and not simple points where they throw out stats)
with the ironic quote of "We ourselves were offered it but weren't going to publish, not out of advertising fears, but simply because we felt it was gratuitous and would put the focus on Salazar and take away from the focus on USATF in our estimation not following their own rules." even though the article focuses much more on the drama than the pure corruption and what we as a community can do to fix it... odd.
Final they include 2 pictures in which they claim, or rather quote Doyle as Hasay was more to blame for the foul (in which they imply you can tell from the photos) which are at 8:48.5 of the race and then of 8:55.1 (where contact occurs) so between those 6.6 seconds that we can't see (they're still pictures) we can automatically invison what occurred and of course redirect the blame actually on to Hasay!
PS once again "Also citing a relative of GG as a witness, very reliable."

He pushed him pretty hard and I didn't see any particular need for it.
Just last month at the Welsh indoor 800 meter championships. Somebody posted a frame by frame video. Somebody tried to squeeze by on the inside.

Another one from UK indoors. The video is crappy and they miss the actual foul, but you can see Wharburton try the inside move starting at 6:56.

And last, and probably least, Kip Litton at the Missoula Marathon.
Eric Jenkin's DQ at the NCAA 3k last year?
