Also I'd have to say my BS detector is sounding Loudly. Most college coaches know that distance runners don't repond to football coach tactics. Distance runners are a self motovated lot and don't need a lot of rah rah or Bear Bryant style "Whipp yo' butt into shape" type coaching. This is especially true on the collegiate level.
Any coach that would do such a thing deserves to have his runners defect to other programs. Nuff said on that.
agreed. although, i've seen some warped hardcore football-esque DIII and juco coaches where such a story might play.
the driving with the running is retarded. the michigan womens coach use to drive along the road and call out mile splits for long runs whilst yelling encouragement. now bare in mind, these are long runs, not tempo or workouts. i can't imagine how f***ing annoying it would be to have some f***ing jackass yelling out mile splits while i'm trying to work off my hangover on an early sunday morning.
