last spring i ran 1:58/4:00/15:20 off a pretty limited fall base (started running in Oct. after missing ~8 months with an injury). over the summer/fall/winter i've focused on consistent volume (80-90mpw) + a lot of threshold work, and ran my debuts in the road 10K & HM (30:55 and 1:08:20). most calculators/tables say those 10K/HM are better performances than anything i did last spring on the track (and the things i'm able to do in training now vs. this time last year support that).
what would be realistic goals for outdoors? i'm starting track-specific work in Feb. with goal meets in late April/May/early June. i'm thinking on the low end 1:55/3:55/14:40, with 1:53/3:50/14:25 being more aggressive goals. anybody else run similar times in the spring, have a solid fall training for & racing overdistance, then come back to the track & make big jumps?
