The US goalkeeper, Tim Howard has tourettes. When he used to play for Manchester United their fans would sing
"Tim Timminy Tim Timminy Tim Tim Teroo, we've got Tim Howard and he says '**** you'."

They sang that at the World Cup qualifier I went to also.
Actually, I think that full blown autism can be correlated to motor problems, particularly re coordination. Aspergers not so much. I had a friend with similar issues who was just drawn to running at a young age. He got to the point where running would cause his brain to overcharge, interestingly enough, and running over a certain heartrate would cause depression.
This kid is an animal. He just likes to make people hurt until they have to "let "him win.
+1 He's not accompanying autism to the prom.

*sigh* That didn't take long. Read up:

…and what's the first thing he does after crossing the finish line? - the same thing he does after every race - look to congratulate all his competitors for a great effort. This kid is 'special' alright. Watch the video at Armory Track. That's what I'm talk's about!! See you at Millrose Mikey.
Nice to see Mikey bounce back from his NXN performance (44th after winning the New York Regional) and drop a blazing time like this one. He should do well at the Millrose Games, and New Balance Indoor Nationals if he decides to pursue that too.
Nice feature on Mike on NBC Nightly News - even if it does focus on the playing up the autism angle.

Well they are doing the story BECAUSE he is a great runner and autistic. Its not like he is Mary Cain or Alan Webb. If they were doing a HS running piece, they would do it on the best runner (Grant Fisher). He isn't even the best miler in New York State.
