We missed the Millenium Mile in NH earlier this week. It's the downhill mile founded by former Foot Locker runnerup John Mortimer.Here's a brief recap:

Despite frigid temperatures of about 20 degrees, a record number of participants graced Mammoth Road in Londonderry, NH earlier today for the 15th Millennium Mile. A reported 1790 entrants, with 1601 finishers, crammed themselves into two traffic lanes for a downhill, wind-aided start to the New Year.
Begun in 2000 by local running legend John Mortimer, the Millennium Mile has quickly become a New Hampshire phenomenon. Mortimer's company, Millennium Running LLC, has grown to organizing over 70 races of varying distance throughout the year, raising over $200,000 in the three years since its founding.
The question of first place was decided by the smallest of magins as Peter Najem, the 2012 champion, outleaned Dylan Lafond, 3:58.55 to 3:58.78. Christine Shaw won the women's event in 4:57.28. Seven-year-old local boy William Belanger brought up the rear with a scintillating 21:32.36 to close out the event.
