"Binge drinking" and "professional" doesn't really go together IMHO. I have known and trained with some very professional runners and they would have a beer here and there maybe a couple at a time, but never more than 2-3 at any given time, no matter what time of year it was. Hard liquor was out of the question.
I wonder how her coach/sponsors react when reading that.
It's a pretty funny blog and probably represents a lot of pro runners, but the it kinda makes her sound like she is content with the 15k she makes a year because although she trains hard, her life is otherwise sitting around watching tv and thinking of ways to be frugal.
I like the humor, but wouldn't be interested in a date if I read this about someone I was about to meet.
I think she was implying that they only have a week or two off in late September to drink and party.
Phoebe, you missed out on an obvious very attractive quality:
We're usually excellent at SEX. We're in touch with our bodies, we have phenomenal stamina...and we can offer a good massage/back rub to get things started.
I never had a runner girl say that she needed to change positions because her stomach, hips, or lower back was getting tired from...pick a position.
