Wonder if Harvard will attempt to fill their throws position this late?
Speaking of throws coaches, did western Michigan ever hire a throws coach. I know the guy they initially hired went to illinois state.
what will Michigan State do to replace the sprint coach?

Wouldn't surprise me if they tried very hard to convince Jack Brady to come back.
I'm guessing its hard to get a decent pool of candidates at this point, but providing its a decent salary (considering the high cost of living in the area) it should be an attractive Job to the right person.
western michigan hired - croation shot discus guy who threw at va tech - was at an naia school
That'll equate to some pretty good freshmen who can make an immediate impact, especially at their conference level. Provided Western has the budget to recruit foreigners.

In the javelin yes, but you might take a closer look at what is going on in the other 3 throwing events in the MAC on the women's throws. Throws are the best event area in the MAC on the women's side by a mile. Foreign recruits will have to be studs to come in and score good points as freshman in the throws.
It's easily the best area in the conference. Even on an NCAA level the MAC is as good as anyone in women's throws. But one really good girl can change everything. 50ft in the Shot and 180ft in the hammer, aren't that good on an international level. If he can get one 17+ freshman shot putter and develop her at all the next 4 years will be really fun. Not much of a chance of western signing a girl like that from here in the states. If they want to get into the mix, going foreign was their best hope. They don't have a talent pool like the State of Ohio.

Any update on Notre Dame or Mich State sprints jobs?
When is the Ohio State Men's Cross Country coach getting fired. Awful at the biggest, richest school in the country!
He's not going anywhere. Karen is on charge. His job is to babysit 10 guys, keep them happy, while she can focus on sprints and hurdles.
Absolutely agree. Not saying at all that it couldn't happen. Very well could happen and it's definitely the route it would go. As you pointed out, very hard to find a girl in MI that could immediately make an impact. And if there was its hard sell to get them to WMU. Will be interesting to see what they do! And if coach Lycan will give him the coin for that big one foreign kid.
What event is USMA looking for?
So was he the best possible candidate for the job or are there no other good young jumps coaches who would take a job like that?
Beau Walker from Southern to Air Force.
One more nail in the coffin of track and field...
So with lots of coaches being released or let go over the summer and not popping up with a new job......
Are coaches like this eligible to file for unemployment or are they stuck flipping burgers or training their local athletes for the next year until something opens up?
yeah, I haven't heard where several distance coaches that lost jobs recently went. Where is Gibby? Where did Hayes go? Havent heard anything. What about the guy that coached Notre Dame women for a ton of years that was let go?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
