After hard efforts on the indoor track, and occasionally outdoors, For anywhere between 24-72 hours I have what I call pepper nose. This only happens when I really get after it, most recently after a 5x1000-4x600-4x400 workout indoors working down from 68 to 64 to 60 for the quarter paces at the different distances. After this workout, my nose started to run like crazy, with the itchy irritating sensation about 3/4 up my nose feeling a little burning like i have to sneeze. I feel like my sinuses are also somewhat effected, and that pressure there has built. I have to spit and blow my nose and sneeze A LOT and feel like I snorted a little pepper and have a head cold. This happens almost immediately following the hard effort (just a few minutes after my cool down) and can last from 1-3 days. I haven't found any drugs like Sudafed that help, and the only relief I have ever found was once the night after a workout I played in a basketball game, and that seemed to work it out of me.
Does anyone else deal with this? Has anyone found a way to deal with it? Thanks
